The yacht Project Ananda is the latest spec superyacht from Heesen Yachts, yet represents a new direction in a few ways. Firstly, the 237-footer (72-meter) reflects a different profile for its offerings. While still long and sleek, the five decks feature bevels, with the bow softer as well. All are due to the work of Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. According to Heesen, its engineering team and the studio partnered early on, when the shipyard wanted to create a new Smart Custom series build. Smart Custom affords clients a set hull design and engineering package, with input into superstructure styling.<\/p>\n\n\n

Additionally, the new direction embraces a different way of living. For the past several years, the majority of megayachts have prioritized alfresco relaxation and entertainment. Pools at the center of open-air beach areas are a big part of this, simultaneously touted as a wellness amenity. Although a pool is aboard, clad in travertine marble, the Sinot studio has reframed the wellness focus. Amid about 1,076 square feet (100 square meters), the wellness suite distinguishes itself with an ice bath, a snow shower, and medical-treatment room. The treatment room doubles as a massage room, with a sauna and a steam room complementing the amenities. For owners and guests who are avid divers, the Sinot studio and Heesen additionally plan to include a hyperbaric chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n

The way owners and guests arrive onboard a yacht rarely receives prominent billing. The yacht Project Ananda strives to make it a more welcoming and intimate experience. Typically, everyone enters a central lobby, a lounge, or other leisure space. Instead, the 237-footer has an opening platform amidships bringing them directly to a glass elevator and spiral stairs. They therefore can go straight to their individual staterooms, then come back together when they\u2019re settled.<\/p>\n\n\n

The yacht Project Ananda\u2014whose name means \u201cinner joy\u201d\u2014has more differentiating areas in store. For instance, a teppanyaki bar sits inside the glass doors just off the pool. To lend a more luxurious look, Heesen chose the same travertine marble that surrounds the pool for the deck. It further flows into the teppanyaki area, uniting the two spaces. Furthermore, two suggested arrangements for the owners\u2019 deck both include private alfresco space, the only modification being forward vs. aft. And, finally, a second master suite of comparable size suits the growing number of multi-generational cruising families.<\/p>\n\n\n

The keel laying is scheduled for November. Engineering calculations, backed by tank testing, are already complete. Among other things, they pledge a 5,000-nautical-mile best range with hybrid propulsion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
