Thom Conboy (pictured, center) is further representing the Turkish shipyard across North and South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conboy\u2019s career in the yachting business crosses continents and decades\u2014specifically, four decades and Europe, North America, and South America. Through it all, he worked directly for owners as a captain and spent significant time on the business side, too. Most recently he was the American representative for Heesen Yachts. He\u2019s also a longtime yacht broker. Additionally, Conboy headed the Intermarine Savannah shipyard for a decade, prior to it becoming Safe Harbor Savannah Yacht Center. They include the recently launched <a href=\"https:\/\/megayachtnews.com\/2026\/01\/yacht-vento\/\">yacht <em>Angelique<\/em>, which made history<\/a> (above). She\u2019s the largest contract so far for the builder, as well as the largest private yacht from any Turkish builder. LOA: 288 feet (88 meters). Volume is 2,550 gross tons, equally significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burak Akg\u00fcl, Turquoise\u2019s CEO (left at top, with shipyard owner Mohammed Al Barwani to the right), particularly calls attention to Conboy\u2019s years of experience in the industry. \u201cHaving known and respected Thom for so many years from afar, it is a real privilege to have his deep-rooted market knowledge and presence accompany Turquoise\u2019s further growth in the Western Hemisphere,\u201d he says. Akg\u00fcl adds that the shipyard sees not just the longstanding affinity for yachting in the United States.
