How different can semi-custom superyachts in the same model series truly be from one another? The answer is, actually quite different, with the right combination of owners and designers. The owner of the yacht Asani<\/em> ensures that those who step aboard know exactly what she is all about. Indeed, the yacht virtually communicates her story to guests through common literal and figurative natural elements from deck to deck.<\/p>\n\n\n

Asani<\/em> is the latest delivery in the Benetti 50M B.Now series, which includes the yacht Alunya<\/em><\/a>, among others. She\u2019s further a B.Now superyacht with the super-popular Oasis Deck, the open-air, multi-level aft lounging area close to the water. Between the proximity to the sea, a pool, and fold-down sides, the Oasis Deck has an apt name. Even with it being an option, Benetti says it can construct the 164-foot (50-meter) series in 30 percent less time than comparably sized custom yachts.<\/p>\n\n\n

Certainly, the delivery time frame for this four-deck yacht appealed to the owner, as did the alfresco amenities. However, the owner primarily wanted to blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor areas, for friends and family to better relax and enjoy each other\u2019s company.\u00a0A trio of specialists contributed to the interior design, including Benetti\u2019s own interiors division. The other two specialists, namely Njord by Bergman Design House and the consultancy LASS Studio, worked with the owner to select everything from suppliers to materials and artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n

LASS Studio is especially focused on ensuring a seamless integration between the crew providing exceptional service and owners having beautiful boats. So, for example, it paid great attention to alfresco traffic areas, plus interior arrangements. Interestingly, it recommended Njord by Bergman Design House for the project, specifically to curate a stunning art collection. The yacht Asani<\/em> blends select pieces from the owner\u2019s extensive collection with the studio\u2019s recommendations for wall art, accessories, and furnishings. Throughout her decks, the yacht shows off the work of artists like Ula Saniawa of Unit 89, responsible for the master suite headboard (below). The custom installation signifies the random journey of nature through the sea\u2019s and sand\u2019s movement.<\/p>\n\n\n

Notably, this particular piece inspired a number of the finishing touches as well as the yacht\u2019s branding. Its concept of nature, for instance, reappears in an Elmgreen & Dragset art piece in the dining area (below), reflecting a blue sky and clouds. The owner personally chose this. Additionally, significant artworks are custom creations embodying the themes of nature and the ocean. Accessories guest might not otherwise consider much do, too. The saloon\u2019s rug is a good example. It calls to mind moving ocean waves (complemented by a neutral backdrop of oak and dark wenge details). Even furnishings\u2019 vibrant blues and organic shapes call to mind the same things, helping to \u201ctell\u201d the story that Asani<\/em> wants to share. Ultimately, that story is one of tranquility.<\/p>\n\n\n

Deep thought behind being different pays off. It starts with the flow of the Oasis Deck directly into a main saloon\u2014unlike previous Benetti B.Now projects. It contines up on the sundeck, where coffee tables rise and extend into dining tables. And, of course, thinking differently permeates ever corner inside the yacht Asani<\/em>. Regardless of where guests are aboard, Asani\u2019<\/em>s ideas on how they should feel are loud and clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
