The Superyacht Cup Palma regulars are looking forward to it, as are first-time attendees\u2014which, famously, include three J Class entries so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Superyacht Cup Palma is the longest-running superyacht regatta in Europe. <a href=\"https:\/\/megayachtnews.com\/2021\/02\/superyacht-cup-palma-25th-anniversary-with-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">It celebrated its 25th anniversary last year<\/a>, in fact. This year, the event starts on June 29 and concludes on July 2, with about a dozen or more yachts anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Superyacht Cup Palma regulars include well-known yachts like the Baltic 108 <em>WinWin.<\/em> In fact, the yacht\u2014appropriately named\u2014took the overall title in both 2019 and 2016. \u201cRacing at Superyacht Cup Palma has always ticked all the boxes for <em>WinWin,\u201d<\/em> explains her captain, Will Glenn. Yet additional regular competitors include the Vitters sloop <em>Missy,<\/em> and the Abeking &amp; Rasmussen sloop <em>Baiurdo VI. <\/em>Notably, the latter podiumed in Class B during last year\u2019s regatta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As much as the Superyacht Cup Palma regulars are looking to flex their performance muscles, they\u2019re keenly interested in checking out new entrants. For example, they\u2019ll see the Vitters-built <em>La Belle<\/em> and the Oyster 1225 <em>Archelon.<\/em> Furthermore, they\u2019ll see the J Class yachts. So far <em>Ranger, Topaz,<\/em> and <em>Velsheda<\/em> have all confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, the Js will race in their own class. So, too, will more modern performers, specifically in the Performance Class. It joins the traditional Superyacht Class and the non-spinnaker Corinthian Class as options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All in all, \u201cThe competition is fierce but fair and friendly, and Palma is such a fantastic world-class venue,\u201d Glenn asserts. \u201cThere is nothing not to like.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check the Superyacht Cup Palma website for the Notice of Race, and how to register interest in participating.
